There are three legendary gates at Mungyeongsaejea.The earthy road to Mungyeong is comfortable to walk upon.The second gate, Jogokgwan is located halfway up the mountain, and the last gate is found at the mountain’s peak.Beyond the first gate, is a village set constructed by KBS for filming television dramas.After passing the second gate, the way to the third gate offers a more peaceful atmosphere, but it is at least an hour’s hike from the first gate.At Mungyeong, visitors can learn about Korean Confucianism, which served as the basis for manners and etiquette, educational ideology, and general way of life for the Korean people.
The Mungyeong KBS drama studio located in MungyeongsaejaePark specializes in historical dramas. There are three palaces and many houses from the Goryeo Period and Joseon Period, spread over 70㎢. It is the world’s largest historical drama film set. The studio was built in Mungyeongsaejae because of its mountains and the fact that the area is filled with numerous traditional roads. Major dramas and films shot at the studio include The Dawn of the Empire, The Age of Warriors, SKK, and etc. These days, two or three dramas are filmed here each week.
Apples have been grown for thousands of years in Asia and Europe. There are more than 7,500 known cultivars of apples, resulting in a range of desired characteristics. Different cultivars are bred for various tastes and uses, including cooking, fresh eating and cider production. Apples are often eaten raw as the entire fruit including the skin is suitable for human consumption except for the seeds, which are slightly poisonous. Apples in Korea are famous for their beautiful color and great taste that comes from the fertile yellow soil in which they are grown, they are rich in natural sugars that help aid digestion; organic acid and vitamins that are effective in relieving fatigue; and calcium, which is believed to prevent hypertension.
